Extreme Hair Makeover

Before Shot

3 Things I Hate About This Haircut

Disclaimer**** I don't blame my hairdresser for this. I blame myself for not having a clear picture in my head of what I wanted. It can happen to anyone. Proceed at your own risk.

1. You know what they say about dogs and their owners looking alike? I resemble Betsy a little too much here. I look ready for my turn in Westminster.

2. Either that or ready to walk like an Egyptian.

3. Me and Patricia Heaton from "The Middle" could be twins. Not a good thing.

Goo!

And girls, we all know when our hair ain't right, we don't feel right!

So, I went back and decided to chop it all off! I have loved this haircut for years now and decided to just go with it!
On the way home from the salon!

A week after. Trying to perfect my Blue Steel, but looking pissed off instead.

I have never had my hair this short and I absolutely love it! I feel so much spunkier and younger than before. It takes absolutely no time to style. This gives me more time for important things like spending time with my new boyfriend, Mr. Kindle.

I sing to him. It's sad.
"Mr. Kindle"- by Lyndsey, sung to the tune of "Mr. Wendal" by Arrested Development.
Uhh yeah eh yeah eh yeah.........

I bought him from my bosses wife for $50. He's covered with a super sassy purple cover and already is loaded with 45 books. I spent a lot of time with him this weekend. I hope Marc's not too jealous.

We've been spending a ton of time outside these past two weekends. As soon as Henry wakes up in the morning, he walks to the back door and says "Ossa". He would be out there all day every day if I let him. I'm so thankful we have a big backyard so he can run around as much as he wants. I cannot get enough of this wonderful weather!
I think my great mood also has to do with the fact that Henry is now officially FERBERIZED. Don't be scared. This is the new yuppie parent term for basically letting them cry themself to sleep. We started it two weeks ago because after all the time of being sick, Henry was getting used to waking up in the middle of the night and coming in our bed. This got old real fast. None of us slept well.
The first night we gave him a bath, read him a story, and set him in his bed with his glow-worm and blankie. He cried for 5 minutes. I went to check on him and patted his back and told him it was night night time. He cried for about 7 minutes after that and fell asleep.
The second night we did the same routine. He cried for about 3 minutes.
The third night.....no crying!
The fourth night as I'm rocking him after we're done with his story, he points to his bed. Like, "Mom, I know the routine already, let's just get this over with."
This has been life-changing. I don't know why we waited so long to do it. We have more time at night to ourselves and he's not waking up at night at all. Or if he does, he's able to soothe himself back to sleep.

Here's some pics from this past weekend. We had family pics taken this Saturday. Can't wait to see how those turn out.

Cheese!

It looks awesome!!!! I am loving having short hair too:) And good job ferberizing! We are such big fans of that method and used it for both boys. Good work Mama!
