Happy (late) Thanksgiving!

Welcome to our blog! I thought this would be a great way to keep everybody updated on what's going on with us.

We had a great Thanksgiving with Udo & Laurie at our house this year. This was the first year hosting at our house, so I was really excited to get the house all spiffied up. Between the Christmas tree, the Hannukah mantle, and the Thanksgiving table- we were representing all holidays! The weather was pretty yucky & cold most of the time, so the bulk of our activities consisted of pigging out, drinking, and playing some mean games of Scrabble & Trivial Pursuit.

We did venture out to do some shopping, but I don't know if it was just me but I just wasn't really that impressed with any of the deals this year. Friday afternoon was actually nice weather, so we took the chance to take Betsy to the dog park. It was Udo's first visit and let me tell you, this boxer named Klondike was not having it! He did not like him at all and was standing in front of him growling. We teased Udo that he had some mutton in his pockets (Seinfeld reference) because Betsy reacted to him the same way first time he met her and he was wearing that same jacket. Ahhh....good times. Sorry for the blurry pic, but here's Klondike.

We were lucky to get to have two Thanksgiving meals. We had a pre-Thanksgiving meal with our community group from church the week before Thanksgiving. I can't believe we have been meeting together for almost 2 years! It was great to get together and just relax and have a great meal before the busyness of the holidays set in. Very thankful for family & friends!

Now it's back to work but can't wait for this weekend. My mom is coming up to visit so we can do some shopping and go see the Biltmore and Marc is headed down to the SEC Championship game. Christmas is going to be here before we know it! If you haven't listened to Sarah Mclachlan's "Wintersongs", you have to get it. I've pretty much got it on constant rotation in the car already. Between that and Oprah's favorite Christmas songs, Amy Grant, my Starbucks holiday mixes.....I might have a problem :)

Hope everybody has an exciting next couple of weeks, looking forward to the holidays. Stay warm!
